Data Center Research Meetings Build Public Private Collaboration
UW–Madison’s Nelson Institute Enterprise convened faculty for a recent “Advancing Data Center Sustainability” research forum, featuring presentations from 14 interdisciplinary projects addressing energy, water, ecosystems, and community impacts of data center development. The event highlighted the breadth of UW–Madison expertise and its role in providing independent research to inform public and industry decision-making. Building on this momentum, QTS Executive Vice President Todd Malan visited campus to engage directly with researchers and university leadership on the evolving research partnership. Together, these engagements underscore a shared commitment to advancing rigorous, transparent research on the sustainability of digital infrastructure.
